Remember and keep

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8). Shabbat is kept through positive mitzvot — Kiddush, delight and candles — and by refraining from melacha. Keeping it properly requires steady learning of the details.

Maran's books

Maran wrote the Chazon Ovadia volumes on the laws of Shabbat, and his rulings are also organized in Yalkut Yosef. One halacha a day through the week prepares the home for Shabbat.
